The Essential Need for Creative Practices

Creativity and art are as vital to our health as good food, fresh air, and clean water. We have been removed from this important component of self in a culture that does not center creativity, nature, and deep introspection. This white supremacy culture emphasizes profits over creativity. There is no value in you knowing your purpose in this old paradigm.

We live in a culture that does not value the arts as a component of every day health and personal growth, it is only valued for its contribution to wealth. Art is for the PEOPLE. Art and creativity are our basic human rights.

When schools strip students of their innate creativity, through tests and homework with right and wrong answers, they uphold this oppressive paradigm.

To be an artist is an act of protest. To be an artist is to say "hell no" to conformity and to a world that devalues creativity.

How do you engage in your creativity? Do you have a story that needs to be told in an expressive way? When was the last time you created something for you and you alone? How does creativity contribute to your soul purpose?

Let’s make a new story.
