The Five Elements Healing Practice

A FREE workshop with live music.

A yoga and meditation practice for all levels.

The mirror of ourselves exists within nature.

The five elements are the essential building blocks across many ancient healing practices around the globe. Understanding these fundamental components of self and nature will help you to stay in balance and find your center—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Utilizing these practical, ancient natural qualities provides a compass to better navigate the varied challenges of our modern times. This free workshop will introduce you to these root elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Aether, in old, new, and creative ways. Through gentle yoga asana, movement, breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation, journaling, and simple applicable daily practices, you will feel more connected, grounded, fluid, and energized.

Online and in person (limited in person registration)

Bring: journal, yoga mat, water

Handmade Stories at Artistree!

Handmade Stories at Artistree!

Watch for summer dates posted soon for handmade paper and handmade stories!

Handmade Stories-Paper-Making and Personal Expression

Learn to make handmade paper, use found and natural materials, and turn that paper into an expressive hand bound book!

Create your own story and personal narrative. Stories can come to us from our own life experiences, our inner imagination, or they might arrive as messages from the collected stories of others.

In this hand paper-making and mixed media workshop, participants will make their own papers with embossing and embedded materials. Once dry, we will paint and collage these pages with our own personal stories and narratives, either written, typed, or collaged from other sources. Simple creative bookbinding techniques will be included to design your very own completely handmade and from scratch art book.

This workshop will be LIVE and in person, so you will be able to have conversation and questions with the instructors and to share your creations in a group setting.

Restore the Muse—Finding Your Way Back to Innate Creativity through body, breath, and soul.

Do you find yourself falling into worn-out routines and thought patterns that interrupt your creative flow? Do you know you could be living with more inspiration and expression, but feel uncertain about where to begin?

In this workshop we will explore our thoughts about what inspires us, what role the muse has had in our past and in the natural world, and how to identify the key moment when we stopped believing we were creative.

We will connect to our bodies and breath as we open with flow based yoga to balance our five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. Then, we spend time with reflective writing, discussion, and simple hands-on art exercises that anyone can do!

All are welcome to attend, whether you consider yourself an artist or not.

Mindful Marketing for Makers

How do you “follow your heart” to make a living? Do you struggle with the idea of advertising and marketing yourself as a maker? Do you long to sell your unique product or creative service but are afraid of feeling spammy and overbearing?

Hosted by the Spiritual Makerspace Skill Share

Join local maker, artist, and teacher, Angie Follensbee-Hall for this two hour workshop designed to help you align your products and services with your ethics and values. In this focused session, you will:

  • Understand how your unconscious ideas, fears, and experiences around money are getting in your way

  • Get clear about your sense of service and mission as you conduct your business like a spiritual practice

  • Take essential action steps to move your making from a hobby to a profession

Selling yourself as a maker doesn’t have to mean sacrificing your ideals and beliefs. You don’t have to lose yourself in the harmful paradigms of competition, perfection, or infinite growth. When you align your values with your service, you create ripe conditions for your business and your community to thrive.

Developing Your Creativity

Next session will be announced soon!

Discover ways to nurture your innate creative ability and to craft new meaning in your life.

Creativity and art are as vital to our health as good food, fresh air, and clean water. In these uncertain and stressful times, it is even more important to connect to the natural world as we cultivate and nourish our innate human capacity to be creative.

Everyone has the potential to live a wildly inspired and creative life. But far too often, we fall into old routines and thought patterns that interrupt our creative flow. The goal of this course is to help you recognize that creativity isn’t just for artists, writers, musicians, etc....but that it is a skill you already use everyday.

In this course you will nurture your creative ability in hands-on projects such as: a creativity journal, natural found sculpture, nature mandalas, writing a personal creativity statement, found object sculpture, collage, simple rhythms, and a self-designed personal creativity project. Students will bring their own supplies.
