Jai Studios Gallery and Gifts Mission Statement
To provide a space of creative inspiration while supporting and showcasing the talent of local artisans, makers, and writers who are animated by the world around them.
Who we are: Jai Studios Gallery and Gifts is the dream vision of husband/wife/and daughter trio Josh, Angie, and Isabella Hall. Together we make Jai Studios LLC. Jai means victory in Sanskrit, and is a term of greeting, jubilation, and joy. It is also the first initials of our names! We live in Brownsville, VT. We are artists, musicians, writers, and creators.
Our Goal: We desire and aim to cultivate a space for sharing our own artistic creations, while also supporting and showcasing the creative musings and expressions of other artists, makers, writers, and dreamers in our local area. By local we mean people who live and reside in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts, or within about 2 hour radius (give or take). Items in our shop are strictly handmade and artisan made.
The Space: Our Gallery is located in Windsor, VT, at the historic Windsor House on 54 Main Street, in the 1846 room. This is a beautifully restored building in downtown Windsor, VT with vintage tile and wood floors, windows, and a rich history. We have 1053 sq ft of exhibition space.
What we offer: We provide three exhibition and consignment spaces for other artists and makers, as well as owners Angie and Isabella’s permanent display space. Angie’s personal paper making artist studio on site. All consignment is done through a 40/60 split with the artist/makers and The Gallery (40% to the Gallery, 60% to the Artist).
The Small Works Gallery is a collection of 2D display works sized 10”x10” or under. Artist may apply to consign up to 2 works each for the Small Works Gallery. The Small Works Gallery changes out approximately every 4 months, with a different theme for each period. Anyone in the community, of any age, is welcome to display in the Small Works Gallery.
The Featured Artist Exhibit showcases juried and selected, professional local artists. The Featured Artist showcases one artist for 8-10 weeks, exact dates determined on consignment. The Featured Artist is offered an artist’s opening reception, and is encouraged to offer an artist talk for the community.
The Gifts Exhibits is a carefully curated selection of local artisans and makers offering fun wares of all kinds. Pottery, collectibles, prints, cards, personal body care, and more! These are gifts offered all year long.
The Book Nook is a select collection of local Cartoon Artists, Comic Artists, Writers, and Poets. These are also offered ongoing, all year long.
Studio and Permanent Display: Angie’s personal handmade paper and mixed media artist studio is located in the back of the gallery and is open to the public during select open hours for demonstrations and observation. Both Angie and Isabella’s artwork are on permanent display in the gallery.
Other Offerings
From time to time we offer artist talks, opening receptions, Music recitals by Josh Hall or other musicians, and other small community gatherings for the public.
