Vitality

The Three Vital Essences, Kriya Yoga, Five Elements, and more….

1 hour—Probably the most important aspect of your practice. You need to show up, do your work, face discomfort, and accept that ultimately what happens is a little bit out of your control. You must surrender to something much, much bigger than yourself. Includes mudra, mantra, standing postures, balancing, and relaxation.

57 minutes—Tapas is the discipline aspect of your practice. Showing up, doing the work, facing safe discomfort, is what creates great change in our body/mind/spirit complex. Includes mudras for tapas and discipline, core work, and relaxation.

Prana is the vital life force of your living being. It is drawn into the body via your breath, the food you eat, your relationships, and how you move through the world. In this practice, you will stretch your side body, build strength, engage the breath through pranayama techniques, and keep a balance of energy in the body through mindful meditation. Includes prana mudra and nadi shodhana.

Asana practice to engage strength, vigor, stamina. Strengthen and engage your muscular tissues, and earth connection. Includes standing postures, strengtheners, and Ojas Mudra. Ends with restorative posture--Supta Badha Konasana.

1 hour—What is the difference between plain exercise and yoga? It is the self-reflection, and the understanding of your true Self that you gain through body-work, strengthening, and moving your body through the world. We explore how asana helps us to learn more about ourselves through mudra, balancing postures, and relaxation.

Tejas is your ability to radiate life-energy into the space around you. It is expressed through your circulatory system, and radiates through your heart space. In this practice, you will radiate your energy with kapalabhati breath, surya breath (breath of joy), standing postures, backbends, and strengthening practices. Also includes Tejas Mudra and Kevali Kumbhaka.

BONUS!—A yoga and meditation practice for all levels. The mirror of ourselves exists within nature. The five elements are the essential building blocks across many ancient healing practices around the globe. Understanding these fundamental components of self and nature will help you to stay in balance and find your center—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Utilizing these practical, ancient natural qualities provides a compass to better navigate the varied challenges of our modern times. This free workshop will introduce you to these root elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Aether, in old, new, and creative ways. Through gentle yoga asana, movement, breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation, journaling, and simple applicable daily practices, you will feel more connected, grounded, fluid, and energized.
