Breath Videos

Ujjai breath, also known as Ocean Wave Breath or Victorious Breath, is a common technique for yoga classes and meditation. We gently constrict the back of the throat, similar to how we fog a mirror with our breath. This action creates a gentle breath sound that lengthens and controls our breath, as well as massages the vagus nerve to cultivate relaxation. Use this breath on its own, during meditation, in yoga practice, or at any time to bring balance to the body, mind, and breath.

A breathing practice to bring balance and ease to your body and mind. We breathe in to the count of 4, and then we breathe out to the count of 4 while using a whisper sounding breath. This practice is like drinking a glass of water, bringing just the right amount of steadiness and ease. A perfect practice for mid-day, or for any time of day.

A pranayama technique, or yogic breathing technique, to bring balance and ease to your body and mind. This is a technique of breathing through one nostril at a time. We practice this technique with Ujjai breath, or ocean wave breath, a gentle constriction at the back of the throat. We also use a pranayama mudra, a hand position that closes one nostril at a time. Use this video midday, or any time of day to invite ease and balance.

A stimulating and energizing breath technique to help you get up and face your day.

4:4:4 Triangle breath is a relaxing, end of the day breathing or pranayama technique, to help prepare the body and mind for sleeping. In this technique, we inhale to the count of 4, then use a pranayama mudra to pinch and close the nose while we hold the breath for the count of 4. Then, we release the hand and exhale out the breath for the count of 4. Practice 10 rounds with me in this video to unwind from your day and prepare for bed.
